LEGAL

Privacy

Glyph is built to keep your notes on your device. This page explains what stays local, what may touch third-party services, and how licensing checks work.

Short Version

Your notes stay on your device. Glyph does not upload, sync, or track your writing by default.

What Glyph Stores Locally

  • Your notes and folders
  • Your preferences, settings, and local app data needed to make the app work
  • Recent files, appearance choices, and other normal desktop app state

What Glyph Does Not Do By Default

  • No cloud sync run by the developer
  • No telemetry or analytics run by the developer
  • No uploading of your notes to any Glyph server
  • No selling of your personal data

Third-Party Services

  • If you buy Glyph through Gumroad, Gumroad may collect payment and purchase information under its own policies
  • If you download Glyph from GitHub, GitHub may log standard site and download information under its own policies
  • If you choose to use AI features with your own provider or API key, requests may be sent to that provider under that provider’s terms and privacy policy

AI Features

  • Glyph may send content you choose to an AI provider only when you use those features
  • Those requests go to the provider you choose, not to a hosted Glyph cloud service unless clearly stated otherwise

License And Trial Checks

  • Official builds may perform limited checks needed to validate trials or licenses
  • Those checks are for licensing only and are not used for advertising or behavioral tracking

Updates

This policy may change over time. When it does, the latest version published on this website will apply.
